SPARE TIRE SAVER
STANDARD SERIES - BLACK MAX SERIES
|STEP ONE Lower spare tire for access to winch mechanism and frame cross-member panel. Note the two flange head bolts used to attach the frame cross- member panel to the rear frame cross- member. Use a 15mm socket or box wrench to remove the left side flange head bolt. Using the same flange head bolt, position and install the U-bracket as shown in the picture at lower left.|
|STEP TWO Instll the lock bar through the holes in both legs of the U-bracket with the grooved end facing toward the rear of the vehicle, as shown at left. Place the crimp-ring retainer in the groove and crimp closed with pliers.|
Raise the spare tire while guiding the lower end of the lock bar through the lug hole least obstructed by the winch chain mounting plate positioned in the center of the wheel. Prevent spare tire from rotating to insure that the lock bar remains vertical, as spare tire is raised to the full up/stored position.
STANDARD SERIES LOCKING INSTRUCTIONS:
The PVC bar cover/seal is designed to center and hold the lock against the tapered surface of the lug hole. Hold lock inverted with the PVC cover/seal end up. Place lock over the end of the lock bar. Slide lock upward against the tapered surface of the lug hole and rotate to engage lock mechanism with the lock bar groove.
